One of the single most effective things that helps me thrive, is making myself wake up early and start my day in God’s Word. It started as an internal battle, because I was so wrapped in darkness that I had no desire to do this. Then, as the habit was formed, an insatiable hunger for Scripture became my driving force. Waking up early to meet with Jesus has become my delight and my mind, also stabilized by science, finds daily life and freedom through faith and a relationship with Christ.
Here is an example of what went through my mind as I was reading this morning. The bold text is completely my own. As I was reading, I jotted down the encouragement that came to mind and how I can apply the Scripture today. Hope you all have a blessed day! I’m thankful for this precious community!
“Once your life was full of sin’s darkness, but now you have the very light of our Lord shining through you because of your union [𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐧𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐲 𝐝𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐤 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐇𝐢𝐦, 𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐬 𝐦𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭] with him. Your mission is to live as children flooded with his revelation-light! And the supernatural fruits of his light will be seen in you—goodness, righteousness, and truth [𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐫𝐮𝐢𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥. 𝐈 𝐜𝐚𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐭 𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐆𝐨𝐝’𝐬 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩.𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬, 𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐞𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭]. Then you will learn [𝐢𝐭’𝐬 𝐚 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬] to choose [𝐢𝐭’𝐬 𝐚 𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐢𝐜𝐞] what is beautiful to our Lord. And don’t even associate [𝐝𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐞; 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐥; 𝐚𝐬𝐤 𝐆𝐨𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐦𝐲’𝐬 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐬] with the servants of darkness because they have no fruit in them; instead, reveal truth to them [𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐆𝐨𝐝’𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐬]. The very things they do in secret are too vile and filthy to even mention. Whatever the revelation-light exposes, it will also correct [𝐜𝐨𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐆𝐨𝐝 𝐚𝐬 𝐇𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐇𝐢𝐬 𝐠𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐲], and everything that reveals truth is light to the soul [𝐆𝐨𝐝’𝐬 𝐠𝐢𝐟𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐞𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩 𝐦𝐲 𝐩𝐡𝐲𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐛𝐨𝐝𝐲, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐢𝐭’𝐬 𝐉𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐬, 𝐇𝐢𝐬 𝐋𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭, 𝐡𝐨𝐩𝐞, 𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐡, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐒𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐩𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐲 𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐥]. This is why the Scripture says, “Arise, you sleeper! [𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐆𝐨𝐝’𝐬 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥, 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐨 𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐲] Rise up from your coffin and the Anointed One will shine his light into you!”” Ephesians 5:8-14 TPT
