Thoughts, Affections, Behaviors
“So above all, guard the affections of your heart, for they affect all that you are. Pay attention to the welfare of your innermost being, for from there flows the wellspring of life.” Proverbs 4:23 TPT
Sometimes the affections of our heart go wayward. Like women have been writing me lately, life gets so hard - so dark - that thoughts of the escape death offers become glamorous. As those thoughts and imaginations are dwelled upon, affection towards them is kindled and all that you are becomes affected. Or should I say, infected.

We are commanded to guard our hearts - to keep with vigilance. God will not give a command without supplying the grace to do the hard work of obedience. Spend time today storing up God’s Word in your heart and renewing your mind. Ask God to keep your heart from drifting toward any evil. He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion. When a thought pops in your mind that is not of God, stop, pray, and ask Him to redirect your thoughts. That is a victory! And each time you do this, momentum builds, and before you know it, taking thoughts captive becomes a lifestyle rather than a moment by moment crisis battle.
